On this day (June 30) in the year 1840, the following advertisement appeared in the "Daily National Intelligencer" (Washington, D.C. Vol. 28, No. 8541): - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - D A G U E R R E O T Y P E L I K E N E S S E S.--Mr. STE- VENSON would inform the citizens of Washington and the District that he has taken rooms at Mrs. Cummings', on Pennsyl- vania avenue, a few doors from the Capitol, where he is prepared to take miniature likenesses by the Daguerreotype every fair day, from 10 A.M. till 4 P.M. june 29--1w ----------------------------------------------------------------- 06-30-96
