On this day (August 22) in the year 1845, the following three advertisements appeared in "The Evening Mirror" (New-York; Vol. II, No. 262): --------------------------------------------------------------- DAGUERREOTYPES P. Price of these superb Photographs reduced to that of ordinary ones at other places, so that no one need now sit for an ordinary likeness on the score of economy. Taken in any weather. Plumbe's Premium and German Cameras, Instructions, Plates, Cases, &c. &c. forwarded to any desired point, at lower rates than by any other manufactory. WANTED--Tow or three skilful operators. Mr. B. does not claim superiority for him- self, but leaves his pictures to the criticism of a just and intelligent public, who, as well as strangers, are invited to call at the Gallery before going elsewhere, whether they intend sitting or not. Likenesses in all cases warranted to give satisfaction, and colored in a most beautiful manner, and in which department Mr. B. does claim superiority, it being filled by a competent and practical person.
