On this day (December 11) in the year 1850, the following item appeared in the "Boston Daily Evening Transcript": - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The premium on the first ticket to the Lind concert at Baltimore was only $100. The purchaser was Mr J. Whitehurst, Daguerreotypist. Subsequently, a seat adjoining was purchased for Mr Whitehurst, for $6 50. The first three seats in the parquette were knocked off at a premium of $4 each. The whole number of seats in the parquette was 546, and the highest premium was $4 25. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 12-11-96
